You know when a news piece tells you how Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are related and you go whaa? Well, it turns out that Hollywood has many such examples. Thanks to social media and the paparazzi, we know almost everything about our favorite Hollywood celebs. But finding out that some of these famous personalities may actually belong to the same family never fails to surprise us. In fact, a few of them didn’t know they were related until they took a DNA test. We’re not kidding! We’ve put together a list of 10 such celebs who are related to fellow Hollywood biggies. Some of these relations may seem obvious, but we bet you might not even have heard of some.
Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci

Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci
This one might have been slightly difficult to guess, given that one of them is American and the other British. You might have seen the actors together on screen in the iconic 2006 film The Devil Wears Prada, but you may not know that they are actually related. Stanley Tucci is married to Emily’s elder sister Felicity Blunt, which makes him Emily’s brother-in-law. Most people do not know this because Felicity is known to be quite camera-shy.

Emily Blunt became successful in theater and then moved to the screen, working in acclaimed movies like Edge of Tomorrow, A Quiet Place, and Into the Woods. Stanley Tucci has also made a name for himself in the film industry, featuring in popular commercial films like Captain America: The First Avenger, Easy A, and The Hunger Games series. What can we say? Both have excellent choices in films.

Marisa Tomei and Julianne Moore
There is no denying that we were shocked to learn of certain celebs being part of the same family. But there are only so many times you will hear a story in which the celebs did not know about it either! Marisa Tomei and Julianne Moore went to Boston University at the same time in the ’80s and also worked together on the 2011 hit Crazy, Stupid, Love. But that is not all the connection there is between the two!

Recently, when they were on the television genealogy show Finding Your Roots, they discovered that they share an identical stretch of DNA! It means they are genetic cousins. Isn’t that cool? But this strange connection seems all the more bizarre since Julianne Moore has no Italian heritage, while Marisa Tomei’s ancestors had their roots in Italy. It is no surprise that the actors share a great friendship though.

Jenny McCarthy and Melissa McCarthy

Two celebs with the same last name does not always mean they are related, but Jenny McCarthy and Melissa McCarthy are. These celebrity cousins grew up together in Illinois before moving out to pursue their careers in show business. In fact, when Jenny got her own sitcom, she helped Melissa land her first acting gig on the show. Jenny McCarthy has now become a household name with her appearance on the beloved show Two and a Half Men and has also worked in films like John Tucker Must Die and Santa Baby.

Cousin Melissa McCarthy, on the other hand, made heads turn with her portrayal of Sookie St. James on the television series Gilmore Girls. And who can forget her incredible performances in films like Spy, Bridesmaids, and Thunderforce. These notable roles wonderfully highlighted her skills and made her a star in the comedy genre.

Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts

Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts
This duo might be a little too obvious to guess because of the same last names and the striking resemblance between them. Anybody who is more likely to pick a rom-com over an action film on a movie night has probably had a crush on Julia Roberts. Her most popular films include Notting Hill, Pretty Woman, Eat Pray Love, and Valentine’s Day. But many may not know that her brother, Academy-nominated actor Eric Roberts, is Emma Roberts’s father. Emma made her big screen debut with Blow and has since appeared in countless successful movies. We have seen her in hit films like We're The Millers, Nerve, and American Horror Story. Julia and Emma have a very jovial and healthy relationship, and they even featured in the 2010 rom-com Valentine’s Day together. It comes as no surprise that she idolizes her famous aunt.

Grammy-award winning star Kelly Clarkson first caught people’s attention when she won the first season of American Idol and has since made a name for herself in the music and television industries. What you may not know about her is that she married Reba McEntire’s stepson, Brandon Blackstock, which made McEntire Clarkson’s mother-in-law! Reba McEntire is an American country singer-songwriter popularly known as the "Queen of Country," and she’s also an actress.

Both women had been huge fans of each other's music even before they became part of the same famous family. They were seen together on stage for the first time when Reba joined Kelly to perform a duet version of her hit song “Because of You” in 2007. Kelly would also often ask for Reba’s advice on music. Although Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock have parted ways, she and Reba continue to stay in touch and have maintained a beautiful friendship. And they say in-laws can’t get along!

Barbra Streisand and Josh Brolin
While you may know of both individually, you may be surprised to hear that Josh Brolin, who plays Thanos in the Avengers series, is Barbra Streisand’s stepson. Barbra is one of the most iconic and beloved singers of all time. She has been married to James Brolin for over two decades, and the couple is known as one of Hollywood’s biggest power couples. Barbra Streisand has quite a few talents, and she’s one of the very few superstars to have been honored with an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony award.

Before falling head-over-heels in love with Barbra, James Brolin was married to Jane Cameron Agee, Josh’s mother. Josh’s big screen break came with the 1985 film The Goonies, and he went on to receive several accolades, like the Critics' Choice Movie Award. He is known for his work in No Country for Old Men and W., and his amazing performance in Milk got him an Academy award nomination.

Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson

Although this duo might be a little obvious to guess, we couldn’t possibly exclude one of our favorite mother-daughter duos from Hollywood from this list. While Kate Hudson’s relationship with her father may still seem like it needs some work, her relationship with her mother, Goldie Hawn, continues to be strong and inspiring. After Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson split up in 1982, she began dating Kurt Russell, an American actor and producer. They raised Hawn’s two children together since they didn't have a healthy relationship with their father.

Despite this less-than-ideal situation, Kate Hudson could always rely on her mother to have her back, which strengthened their relationship over time. Kate Hudson recently welcomed her own baby daughter Rani Rose into the world, and the three of them were featured on the cover of “People” magazine. Kate has mentioned that she hopes to pass on what she got from her famous mum to her daughter.

Henry Warren Beatty, known as Warren Beatty, is the younger brother of Shirley MacLaine, who was born Shirley MacLean Beaty. While their incredible performances have made the actors quite popular, what you may not know is that both these celebrities had to modify their names to avoid being constantly associated with each other. The actors have two Oscars between them and continue to act in films even into their 80s. Aside from their appearance in the 1999 documentary Forever Hollywood, these star siblings have never worked together in a film.

Warren Beatty was seen in legendary movies like Bonnie and Clyde, Lilith, Shampoo, and Reds. Shirley MacLaine has played quirky, headstrong, and eccentric characters in films like Steel Magnolias, The Apartment, and Terms of Endearment. Apart from being a terrific actress, she is a phenomenal dancer, as evident from her performances in What a Way to Go! and Sweet Charity.

Nicolas Cage is a well-known actor you may know from iconic movies like Ghost Rider or the National Treasure series. Born Nicolas Kim Coppola, he is the popular filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew. Francis Coppola is a five-time Oscar winner known as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time for giving us movies like Apocalypse Now and The Godfather. Did you know? Winemaking is a Coppola family tradition that has caught on. The legendary Hollywood director is also a winemaker and has made more wines than films in his decades-long career.

Francis Ford is kind of a big deal, which makes it obvious why Cage decided to change his name. Cage’s big screen break came with a small role in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, where he was credited with his birth name of Nicolas Coppola. To avoid harsh comments and accusations of nepotism, he changed his name when he was a teenager to forge his own path without any external influences.

While many of us have seen Dakota Johnson in the sizzling movie adaptation of E.L. James’s Fifty Shades trilogy, not many know that Dakota is actually a third-generation movie star who grew up on movie sets and red carpets. Her mother is none other than Melanie Griffith, who rose to prominence for her role as an adult actor in the 1984 film Body Double. The mother-daughter duo is known for not shying away from bold roles. Dakota Johnson’s father, Don Johnson, is also a well-known actor.

And as if having both parents in the film industry wasn’t enough, Tippi Hedren, who rose to fame with her work in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds and Marnie, is her grandmother. Apart from her portrayal of Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades trilogy, Dakota Johnson is known for her work in movies like How to Be Single, Suspiria, The Social Network, and 21 Jump Street.
