On a planet with more than seven billion people, what are the chances of meeting someone who looks exactly like you? It is more likely than you think. According to scientists, everyone on earth has at least six people who look exactly like them. Image meeting your clone face-to-face. Quite awkward, right? While our chances of meeting our lookalikes are quite slim, celebs have it much easier, thanks to fame. With their face plastered all over on screens, they are far more recognizable. Here is a list of celebs who some would say are doppelgangers. Don’t believe us? Scroll next to check out the similarities.
Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley
When Keira was 12, she starred in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. She played the handmaiden who was used as a decoy for Queen Sabe, played by a young Natalie Portman. Could you distinguish between the two? Because we sure couldn’t. Although they don’t look alike anymore, they still do still bear a striking resemblance. There’s someone else who looks similar to Portman on this list. Scroll down to know who.
Helen Hunt and Leelee Sobieski
If placed side by side, Helen Hunt and Leelee Sobieski could easily be mistaken for siblings. They look similar, and fans have often wondered why Hunt hasn’t played an elder sister to Sobieski. Hunt first gained fame for her role in Mad About You; meanwhile, Sobieski is known for her work in romantic dramas like Here on Earth and The Glass House. We hope fans manifest these two actors on screen because we cannot wait.
Scarlett Johansson and Amber Heard
These two actors would have us believe that we are seeing double if we saw them together. They have similar features with their blond hair, sultry pouts, and eerily similar facial structures. Moreover, they are often seen with red hair for their roles, which will have anyone with 20-20 vision fooled. Their similarities are obviously purely a coincidence, but we couldn’t care less.
Natalia Dyer and Timothee Chalamet
While not a doppelganger in the most traditional way, fans think that celebs Natalia Dyer and Timothee Chalamet are actually long-lost twins!! Chiseled features? Check. Same colored eyes? Check. Sultry expressions? Check. It should come as no surprise because everything about the two actors screams “TWINS.” Composite pictures of these two on the Internet add further fuel to this crazy theory. Do you agree with our assessment?
Bella Hadid and Carla Bruni
The Internet has us convinced that these two are somehow related. While posing for photos together at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, people noticed how Bella Hadid and Carla Bruni sported similar hair colors and wispy bangs. What is even more hilarious is that Bruni took to social media and joked about it by calling Hadid her “(slightly younger) sister.”
Lucy Hale and Sarah Hyland
These two have been mistaken for each other more often than one can imagine. In fact, after an award function, Lucy Hale was mistakenly tagged as Sarah Hyland by an online blog. While the Modern Family actor was nowhere near the award show, she jokingly shared the news online. Hale, clearly amused, had a good laugh and mentioned that “it keeps getting better” with a bunch of laughing emojis.
Ellen DeGeneres and Edie Falco
Besides being touted as celeb twins, Ellen DeGeneres and Edie Falco also share other similarities. They are of similar ages and have gravitated towards similar roles on the big screen. Moreover, Degeneres and Falco both started as comedians and then shifted their focus on acting. It was often commented that these two could be related, but that is not the case.
Elizabeth Banks and Julie Bowen
These two funny women have actually starred in Modern Family at the same time, and you have got to witness firsthand how similar they look. They both sport svelte figures, blond tresses, and have great comic timing. Elizabeth Banks and Julie Bowen are also of similar heights and are both proud parents. We’re surprised no one thought to pair them as relatives.
Courteney Cox and Demi Moore
If you thought Monica from FRIENDS was one of a kind, you’re wrong. Demi Moore shared a photo on her social media with Courteney Cox, and we can't unsee it. They practically look like sisters. And we guess even Demi agrees, as she captioned the image “who’s who?” They have similar chiseled features and inky hair that makes them look like doppelgangers.
Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon
A fan once screamed “Matt Damon!” at Mark Wahlberg and then snapped a picture with him. Wahlberg did not even correct her because, well... It was only after the fan’s friend pointed it out that she realized her mistake. However, besides their looks, the actors have more in common than you can imagine. For example, both are from Boston, in their fifties, and handsome. To top it off, they’ve starred together in The Departed.
Millie Bobby Brown and Natalie Portman
Fans have often pointed out that Millie Bobby Brown from Stranger Things looks like the younger version of Natalie Portman, and no one can disagree. At the 2018 Golden Globes, Brown went up to Portman and couldn’t help but mention their resemblance. Portman answered, “…you’re your own magical person,” and we think that’s a wonderful thought.
Lili Reinhart and Sarah Gadon
Lili Reinhart was scrolling Instagram when she discovered her doppelganger on the explore page. What a fun way to discover your non-biological twin, right? Apparently, Reinhart came across a picture of Sarah Gadon alongside Kit Harrington and thought it was her. We have to admit, she is right. Both have similar hair color, facial features, and just look at the nose! It looks like a photocopy.
Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly
Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly look so similar that they were cast in Roomates because of it. The plot revolves around how one girl is trying to take over the other’s life. Although the movie is creepy and difficult to watch, fans couldn’t help but point out how alike the two actors are. With similar cheekbones, high foreheads, and brown eyes, no one can tell them apart if they were standing together in a room.
Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice
Dobrev has often played her own double in the Vampire Diaries, but she has a doppelganger in real life. Fans have been pointing out their similarities for years, and some even say they were separated at birth. Justice has spoken about this before, claiming that many media outlets, magazines, and even celebs have gotten the two mixed up quite frequently. On a scale of 10, their resemblance is a solid 9.9.
Matthew Broderick and Jon Cryer
Did you know that Jon Cryer got his first acting gig because he looked like Matthew Broderick? Cryer often got comments that he looked like Broderick when he used to work as a theatre usher. We guess that was all the confidence that he needed. Next thing we know, he decided to audition for a Broadway show which was looking to replace Broderick. The director took one look at him, and Cryer got the role.
Amy Adams and Isla Fisher
In 2017, Fisher revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that Lady Gaga once mistook her for Amy Adams at the annual Vanity Fair Oscars party. Gaga then went on to discuss Fisher’s performance in American Hustle. Fisher further added that she chose not to correct Gaga. She said, “It’s Lady Gaga, and I love her so much, I (didn’t) want to tell her the truth.”
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem
Just to make sure everyone’s on the same page: Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are two different people. Now that that’s clear, let’s address how similar they look. The paparazzi mistook Morgan for Bardem after the latter won an Oscar and questioned him about his achievements. Morgan’s response was a friendly bird flip. Clearly, the gesture didn’t translate well because Bardem received backlash for it. Oops! That’s how similar they look.
Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard
People first noticed how similar Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard looked after a YouTube musical was posted comparing the clips of the two actors. That’s not all; Chastain once even made a TikTok in which she wrote, “When you spend 20 years building a career, and they still think you work at Jurassic Park.” Ron Howard, Bryce’s father, himself has been confused between both the stars. Need we say more?
Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel
Katy Perry and Zooey Deschanel look so alike that some even think they could be twins. And clearly, Perry agrees too. The singer cast Deschanel in the music video for “Not the End of the World,” as she couldn’t because of her pregnancy. Perry also confessed that in the initial days of her career, she would often pose as Deschanel to get into clubs. Finding a doppelganger sure has its advantages.
